Blog EntryMUDS First Look: The Multiply ToolbarOct 19, '07 5:07 PM
by Everett for everyone
You may remember having seen our semi-recent staff blog announcement regarding the upcoming Multiply Toolbar.

"Upcoming" may be too strong a word, as it's available now, for Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers!

While it already works (and is awesome, to boot), we're not quite ready to roll it out to everyone on Multiply, so MUDS users -- feel special... for the time being. It's all yours until sometime early next week.

But, of course, there's some work involved. We'd like to you do a little more than simply use the toolbar... please use it and let us know what you think!

We not only appreciate your feedback, but know that it helps make Multiply better. So please, help us out. :)

Blog EntryMUDS First Look: id:// link shortcutsJun 20, '07 11:07 AM

As you may remember, we've posted here from time to time to let MUDS members know about new features that we haven't gotten around to publicizing, drawing attention to... or generally mentioning at all. It's clear that MUDS members tend to have an interest in trying out new stuff... and are quite good at providing us with helpful feedback.

So without further ado, here's a new feature about which to provide us feedback! :)

We've come up with an easy way to link to another user's Multiply page when posting new content. If you were to enter, say, the following text (replacing "everdred" with the user ID to which you'd like to link):
id://everdred
...upon previewing or publishing the content, you'll find it automatically converted to a link to that user's page, like so:
everdred
This can be entered while composing any new content, and in the case of blog entries, either in or out of "Edit HTML" mode – it'll work the same either way.

Please give this a try and let us know if you find it useful!

Blog EntryMUDS First Look: Amazon Wish-List supportMar 30, '07 11:49 AM
by Everett for everyone
Sometimes, we come up with features that aren't necessarily important breakthroughs in our endless quest to help our users share and communicate with the people who really matter to them... but are still kind of fun. And sometimes, every once in a while, a new feature comes along that helps users easily and subtly communicate specific messages to their friends, just gentle little nudges, saying things like "please buy me a $3600 TV."

And sometimes, we come up with features that do both.

Yes folks, this feature allows you to integrate your Amazon Wish-List with your Multiply account, to let people in your network know exactly what you've got your eye on.

Existing items on your list will be imported and added to a new blog entry. Multiply will then automatically check your list every day and if new items have been added, generate a new blog entry announcing the additions to your list. If nothing new has been added, there's no new blog entry, of course.

So, as wonderful MUDS members, this is your chance to try it out and let us know what you think of the feature before it's ready for prime-time. We'll be making this more widely known in the near future, but for the time being, MUDS is the only place you'll find it, so consider yourselves special! You can try it out using the link below:

Blog EntryExplore with RSSJun 8, '06 5:08 PM

Hi guys, we have a new feature that we'd like you to take a look at.

Here you'll find instructions for getting an RSS feed of content posted by people in your network. By default, the feed will provide you with whatever posts are currently set to appear on your Explore page, and will automatically change to mirror whatever view you choose for your Explore page.

It's still a little rough around the edges, and there may be a bit of a learning curve if you want to get in-depth with it. (We'd really like you to!) If you want to edit what appears on your feed, independent of your Explore settings, you can even do so... or create as many feeds as you want for different groups, content types, views, etc.

Please give this a try and let us know what you think!

(Not familiar with RSS? Here's a pretty basic introduction.)
