MessageExciting new weirdness when posting commentsSep 15, '06 9:31 PM
by Dan for everyone
I think this may be due to the super-secret changes...

I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.6 on MacOS X.

When I post a comment, it is successfully posted, but instead of the page reloading with my comment showing up, I'm shown the comment posting form again, empty, with red text telling me the comment text is required, and the thing I'm replying to beneath it.

It looks like this:

What gives? :)

Testing my theory...

Yeah, I know... So I hit the back button, and then my post or reply shows up :/

Yep. The back button is the only way back to the thread, since the page I'm being erroneously shown also has no links to the thread! :)

It's the same with 1.5.0.7 under XP.

Same problem here. Maybe the dev's need to fine tune something...

BTW, did I miss something or you cannot reply privately to someone in a private post and in network messages? Hasn't it existed before?

What Luiz? Now I'm missing something... I can't what? lol

Must be a firefox 1.5.0.7 thing, I'm still running 4 and don't have any problems.

'course, I'm also not running windows or mac, so who knows....

Edit: Version number

I am on Firefox 2.0B2 and I get the same annoying problem so it's not just a FF 1.5 problem.

same problem with Mozilla 1.8b

you sure, you're not double clicking the 'submit' button? i just managed to recreate that by doubleclicking it - first click posts the comment, second click tries to post an empty reply thus giving a warning - 'required field'.

I'm pretty sure everyone here is experienced enough to notice that they only clicked once.

Tried it on the latest IE, Firefox, Flock and even Opera 9. Its all the same.

*now* it should be fixed for everyone. Sorry about that ladies and gentlemen.

:) Did we lose the ability for image to show in summary view of the blog now? Some are saying it's gone, and though it worked for me last night at my site, it didn't work at the group, with this new way to add images, and align them.
