Blog EntryAuto Tag FeatureOct 23, '06 3:05 AM
by Reza for everyone

Thinking for a solution to repeated request for adding the Monthly Archive to the Multiply, as you see it again in last post, I found that if we include the month name of any entry as its tag, then there would be a chance for creating Monthly Archives using Links-to-Tags.

Then I reach to a new idea about tags: the AutoTag.

I mean, if Multiply automatically generates certain tags for our posts, it would add some great chances to categorizing and searching our posts. For example, any blog entry that I post today, could receive following AutoTags:

RezAShakibA Oct. 2006, RezAShakibA 2006, RezAShakibA Blog Entry,  ...

and this would be true about other types of entries such as photos, music, etc. You could consider them as "hidden Tags" and you could have the option to tell multiply to show/hidden them, any way...

Then, we could create a Monthly Archive simply by using some links to that autotags.

Let me go further and assume that some day, Multiply could be able to process our entries more smartly and assign some other meaningfull tags to them automatically, then it would be a great enhance to Multiply and also would help them to categorize their user's interest, make decision about the advertisements appeared at the right pane :D and more... :)

Uhmm...but I hope this can also be optional too...I mean there can be a choice whether we want to or not 'coz I know some people who don't want tags on their documents and I too have a different type of tagging according to my own preferences =(
Though of course, this would still be a nice feature =)

I ALSO HOPE THIS IF ADDED - Is Only A Option & Not Implanted on all..

Nice feature part on Hidden tags

isn't a "hidden tag" basically something that the search engine helps us to find (without any real tags being used, hidden or not)?

this is not a feature i would want. i like my tags the way they are. :-)

AMEN TO THAT! ! ! If there are going to be tags attached to whatever it is that I post I want them to be ones that _I_ know are attached!

maybe... but I want a way to generally reference our posts. If I know that any post automatically stamped with its Month Name, then I could make a reference link to them by using a link similar to this:

http://multiply.com/mail/tags/tag/RezAShakiba%20Oct%202006

Hidden tags don't be shown at your tag list, but you know that they are exist and you could use them for reference

but you can hide your tags by going to the settings section (with the link in the upper right corner). and you can date stamp all your stuff and link to it like i have with my tag links in my welcome message.

it does exactly what you're saying you want, but it does it all with my knowledge. ;-)

(look at the tags labeled 2005, or 2006 as examples of what you're looking for.)

I'd like to see a suggested tags section appear _just_ before a post is acknowledged- You wouldn't have to use them, but a list of suggested words could be offered.

The suggested words could be any non-common words or phrases which appeared in the post
